Travel

  • 16 students traveled to Monsanto Seminar in Monterey in January 2005
  • 18 students attended the Western Dairy Management Conference in Reno in March
  • Some expenses included for American Dairy Science 2004 and 2005 (8 students 2005)
  • Expenses were paid for six field trips for DSCI 412 and DSCI 434 classes
  • Four students traveled to Fresno for the California Animal Nutrition Conference in May
  • Expenses were paid for the Dairy Challenge team (5 students and advisor) to travel to Penn State for the competition in April.

Supply expenses included chairs, a computer table, clock and other items for the Herd Book Room, lab carts and other small items; and class supplies from the CAGR grant ($2,285).

Facility charges were for smart-room improvements (screens, labor charges, etc.), and also included $2,165 for white boards in the Herd Book Room and the computer lab. The 40-foot storage container to house Dairy Club materials was included here at a cost of $3,610 plus $736 to prepare the site.

Equipment included:

  • Computer and presentation technology needed to change the computer lab, 18-200, into a "smart room" ($6,987),
  • A computer for the Herd Book Room ($1,673), and
  • Two portable display boards ($2,070).
  • Also included in this category was a somatic cell counter and portable milking machine funded by College-level funds received by Drs. Henderson and Ferreira ($5,567).
